Israeli-born pianist Yuval Chen has been performing as a soloist from a young age, including notable performances with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and at the esteemed Aspen Music Festival in Harris Hall.

Noteworthy accolades include 1st prize and The Audience Award in the Aviv competitions, AICF 2018, and achieving semi-finalist status at the 2022 International Dublin Piano Competition.

 

Being proficient in both composition and piano, Yuval is passionate about infusing his solo performances with his original works.

 

Over the years Yuval has participated in master classes with world renowned musicians such as, Sir András Schiff, Murray Perahia, Menahem Pressler and Christoph Eschenbach among others.

 

Yuval's musical journey began at the age of seven, studying for many years with Inna Rubin at the Ra’anana Music Center in Isarel. From 2014 to 2018, he studied with Prof. Asaf Zohar at the Buchmann-Mehta School of music at Tel-Aviv University, and currently studies under the guidance of Prof. Veda Kaplinsky at the renowned Juilliard School in Manhattan, NY.

Upon completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Juilliard, Yuval will advance to Juilliard's Artist Diploma Program, commencing in August 2024.

Yuval was granted a scholarship from the America- Israel Cultural Foundation for a number of years and a merit scholarship from 2014 until today.

​Yuval has performed as a soloist with the Israeli philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra IBA, Ra'anana Symphonette, Ashdod Symphony Orchestra, The Beer Sheva Sinfonietta and at the esteemed Aspen Music Festival in Harris Hall.

At The Julliard School, Yuval is a recipient of the Susan W. Rose Piano Fellowship, the Joseph Kalichstein Memorial Scholarship, the Howard And Ethel Ross Scholarship, and the Fanya Moll Scholarship.
